This Variant of BAE F2000 design was originally ordered by the Royal Brunei Navy under the MRLF (Multi Role Light Frigate) Program as the Nakhoda Ragam class, Built by BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships. Due to a contract dispute, the ships were never commisioned by the Royal Brunei Navy.
The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) acquired the ships in 2013, and expected to enter service in September 2014.
The Surface to Air Missile (SAM) originally armed by a MBDA Seawolf had to replaced by VL MICA missiles system.

KRI SINGA 651



Singa Class was the first of FPB 57 programs, a cooperation between Indonesian government and the German government to strengthen Indonesia's shipbuilding capability.
The Technologies and experience gained throughout this programs used by PT. PAL to design and built their own ships up until today.
KRI Singa (651) and KRI Ajak (653) was a NAV I mod. fitted with AEG Torpedoes Tube at the aft. deck.

KRI KAKAP 811

The Kakap Class was the second batch of the FPB 57 Project, first ordered in 1989, KRI Barakuda (814) was the last to be commissioned in August 1995 . 811, 812, 813 was built as a NAV III mod, designed to be a patrol boat and also served as a SAR (Search And Rescue) Platform indicated by its capabilities to receive an NBO helicopter on it's Aft Helicopter Platform, thus very lightly armed compared to her sisters the NAV I, NAV II and NAV V mod.
The single NAV IV (814) was fitted with a minor variations, during the late President Suharto's administration, KRI Barakuda also performed as the Presidential Yacht.
