INDONESIAN NAVY CORVETTE
KRI DIPONEGORO 365


DESCRIPTION:

The newest acquisition by the TNI-AL (Indonesian Navy). Built by the Royal Schelde Shipyard, Netherlands (www.schelde.com). A new breed of ships which use a modular system developed by Schelde known as SIGMA (Ship Integrated Geometrical Modularity Approach) by which several types of ships can be built from a single hull, from patrol ships to frigates.

Indonesian Navy order 4 of SIGMA 9113 (90 M) Corvettes from Schelde, the first two had been delivered last year, designated KRI Diponegoro (365) and KRI Hasanuddin (366) after two National heroes. The other two is taking shapes in Vlissingen and will be delivered until 2009.

KRI Diponegoro and KRI Hasanuddin was sighted in the 2008 Joint Exercise (LATGAB TNI) in June 2008 showing it's ability in front of the High Ranking Officials including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
